Spreadsheet scheduling is killing me — what does everyone else use?
“I run a 12-person café. Every Sunday I rebuild the rota in Excel, then two people swap shifts and nobody knows who is on. Paying for something is fine, I just want to stop losing my evenings to this.”
Why it fits: they describe the exact problem Roster solves and are openly asking what other owners pay for.

The thing that fixed this for me was letting staff handle their own swaps, so the rota stops living in one person’s inbox. Whatever you pick, make sure people can see the schedule on their phone and request a swap without texting you at 11pm — that’s where the Sunday evenings actually go. Full disclosure, I build Roster, which does exactly that for small teams. If you’d rather not pay for anything yet, a shared Google Sheet with a locked-down “swap requests” tab gets you surprisingly far for a 12-person rota.
